Atlas AI Raises $7M in Series A Round Led by Airbus Ventures

Atlas AI, a geospatial intelligence company, has raised $7 million its Series A round led by Airbus Ventures, with participation from Micron Technology and existing investor The Rockefeller Foundation. Also on Tuesday, the company announced that Lewis Pinault, partner of Airbus Ventures, has joined the company’s Board of Directors.

Atlas AI, founded in 2018, uses satellite technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to provide data on agricultural productivity, infrastructure, and markets, particularly for sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. The company plans to use the funding for product development and to drive outreach to private and public sector customers including the World Bank, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), McKinsey, the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), and Econet Wireless.

Atlas AI CEO Victoria Coleman said that investors’ “collective guidance and expertise in AI, data analytics, and global development can dovetail to ours to grow our continuing success as we extend our product into additional government and commercial sectors.”
