Maxar Technologies received more than $120 million in constellation service contract extensions from various, unnamed defense and intelligence customers in the Middle East and Asia, the company announced July 20.

Maxar said it renewed four multi-year Direct Access Program service contracts and expanded a fifth satellite ground station and antenna upgrade contract in the second quarter of 2020. Under the service agreements, the company will provide uninterrupted access to its current satellite constellation, allowing customers to, “continue serving their countries’ national security and domestic missions, natural disaster responses and maritime surveillance.”

“Maxar is committed to serving our strategic international defense and intelligence customers with access to mission-critical satellite imagery through the Direct Access Program,” Maxar Executive Vice President Tony Frazier said in a statement.

The Direct Access Program provides access via a ground station to Maxar’s Earth-imaging constellation, which includes the WorldView-1, GeoEye-1, WorldView-2 and WorldView-3 satellites. Maxar will soon add six WorldView Legion satellites in the first half of 2021.
